Eat better. Feel better. Live better! Listen to your gut.

Did you know that there are trillions of microorganisms living in your gut right now?

Many people have heard the terms “good bacteria” and “bad bacteria” and have some sort of grasp on how they impact gut health, but did you know that some of these are responsible for the manufacturing of the very chemicals that support both your physical and mental well being?

Your microbiome is a complex system of 100 million neurons within your gut walls and is responsible for programming the body’s immune system, regulating digestion and metabolism, making vitamins and nutrients, and protecting your gut from harmful microbial invaders.

Particularly over the last decade, more and more research has been showing how that “gut feeling” you experience has an incredibly powerful influence over what’s actually happening in your brain.

Your gut is responsible for the production of a whopping 95% of your body’s Seratonin as well as hundreds of other neurochemicals that contribute to mood, memory, and learning.  What’s happening in your gut can affects levels of various chemicals being produced within your body and can directly lead to increases or decreases in anxiety and depression.

Often referred to as your “second brain”, your gut is the only organ to have its very own nervous system!

That being said, it’s important to get in tune with your body & nurture your microbiome in the best ways you possibly can.  Everyone’s microbiome is different, and we’re not doctors, so there’s no specific advice we can share here as a cure-all.

All we can do is to try to help you to understand the importance of how your gut can directly impact your physical and psychological health, and encourage you to learn more about what you can do to live your best, most healthy life.

We’re big fans of eating clean, healthy, non-processed whole foods, getting lots of hydration, and, of course, listening to our guts.

A happy gut leads to a happy mind.

And, of course, a happy mind leads to more optimism.
