Finding Your Ikigai

Ikigai combines the Japanese characters IKI, meaning life, and KAI, meaning the realization of hope and expectations, is slowly but surely becoming more well-known & catching on in the Western world.

This ancient concept, most simply put, encompasses well-being, life satisfaction, the joy from doing something and a sense of purpose. It’s about feeling that your life is valuable and that you have an impact. It. creates the possibility of one to make his/her living at a job s/he most enjoys doing, whilst also fulfilling a need (or needs) that will benefit others.

It’s your reason to get up in the morning. It’s your reason for being.  Your calling. Your meaning.  The very thing that you were born upon this Earth to do…

To celebrate it, and to be celebrated for it.

This wonderful approach to life has nothing to do with achieving status nor profit and everything to do with what floats your boat, what knocks your socks off, what makes you happy AF to do…

... all whilst contributing the lives of others and truly doing what you were born to do in the process.

To further clarify, it’s where the overlap happens from the following four categories:

What you love to do

What matters to you

What you’re good at

What you can get paid for

Have you found your Ikigai?!?!

We’d love to hear anything you have to say about it! Please let us know in the comments below.
