Liberté, Liberté, Chérie!

~Anais Nin
Sometimes things don’t go exactly according to plan, and that’s 100% a-ok. As long as you stick to following your inner voice, you’ll eventually get to where you’re supposed to be.
For us here at The Optimism Lab, it’s taken a few years of trying multitudes of approaches to get the ball rolling as we’d envisioned from the beginning. Ohh, are we ever grateful to at last be where we are today!
The Optimism Lab was born out of our shared desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others all over the world (whilst being right smack in the middle of a world-wide pandemic… .lol).
We’re not huge fans of using most of the “traditional” social media platforms, so we went off-the-beaten-path and proceeded to pretty much get all tangled up in over-analyzing absolutely everything. From “quality” of content, writing “abilities”, trying to understand algorithms, keywords, SEO, our limited technology (and knowledge of it at that), personal time / communication, learning about cameras, how to create a website, maintain any sort of shared calendar (despite usually having thousands of miles & multiple time zones between us), and figuring out how the heck we could even afford to make this dream a reality.
We finally figured out that the biggest obstacle we’d faced was allowing our crazy busy monkey minds to control our hearts.
Know what we learned after all this!?!?!
To
Just
Keep
Going!!!!
No matter what.
No longer shall The Optimism Lab be an endless sea of planning, meetings, to-do lists, if-onlys, and all that jazz. The world is changing rapidly, the Creator Economy and Web3 are in full bloom, and the possibilities ahead are endless! It’s time to roll with the punches, to stop thinking so damn much, focus only on the present, rule with our hearts, and to kick all the old useless rules to the curb.
Of course there’s still normal life things to manage; keeping a roof over our heads, food on the table, daily tasking, handling family matters, keeping our own health (mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually) somewhat in check, etc,
But as long as we truly revel in the joy of being the love we want to see more of in this world, continue to do at least one thing every day to inspire kindness and optimism, and never look back… that’s all that matters.
: )
Sure we could’ve been “huge” by now if we’d succumbed to using AI for conquering creative blocks & generating content as so many others are doing these days, and what seems to be becoming more & more acceptable as the “norm”. . But, that’s not our bag, Bay-beee. That would mean compromising far too much of what makes us who we are, and integrity means everything to us.
The most valuable thing we have to give… is our word.
It’s been our intention to allow ourselves to be vulnerable in this post today, because we can feel the momentum building like crazy right now and from here on forward, it may begin to seem as if The Optimism Lab came to be just as natural, simple and easy as pi.
We want to inspire you, we want you to dream bigger than big. And to GO FOR IT!!!!
You can do anything you set your heart to… and we’re here to help in any way we can. <3
The Optimism Lab was created by two like-minded, middle-aged oddballs who’d met years earlier, entirely by chance, and one day realized they share the same dream of helping others on a global level.
Coincidentally, we were also ready to go for it, at exactly the same time. There’s a little more to it than that… lol… maybe one day it’ll make a great documentary.
